Wood engraving with colored pencil of Sea Monster Hat by Dale DeArmond. A profile of man's face looking to the proper right. Man is wearing a red and blue shawl and a craved hat. The Hat has a lizard-looking animal on it. The hat is shaded with blue, green and red pencil. Print ink is black. Background of print is shades of orange and yellow. Decorative boarder around edge. Text written in pencil below decorative edge of print reads: "Sea Monster Hat 1/25 D. DeArmond - imp c 95". The "c" is the copyright sign of a c with in a circle. Top edge of paper uncut/finished. According to Certificate of Authenticity the hat is a "northwest coast ceremonial hat, probably Tlinget. Carved wood with abalone and copper insets. The abalone shell a trade item from California in early days. The hat is topped with three woven potlatch rings indicating that the wearer had hosted three potlatches."
