Wood engraving with colored pencil of Raven Hat by Dale DeArmond. Print shows a three-quarters profile of a man wearing a shawl and hat. Shawl is shaded with yellow-orange and white pencil. Hat features the head of a raven and is shaded with red, gold and blue pencil. Print ink is black. Background of print is shades of orange and yellow. Decorative boarder around edge. Text written in pencil below decorative edge of print reads: "Raven Hat 1/25 D. DeArmond - imp c 95". The "c" is the copyright sign of a c with in a circle. Top edge of paper uncut/finished.
According to Certificate of Authenticity the hat is a "northwest coast ceremonial hat, probably Tlinget. Carved wood with two woven potlatch rings which indicate that the wearer has hosted two potlatches. The blue-green color was probably made from copper verdigris and the red from mineral substance." |

Certificate of Authenticity came with print is located in accession file. Hand pulled by Artist from the orginial end grain maple block on an Ettan etching press at Sitka, Alaska on March 1995. Paper: Archival Quality Record of Printing: 25 Artist's Editions, 10 Book Editions, 2 Artist Proofs.
