Description:
Small clear glass medicine bottle with black plastic—like (possibly Bakelite) screw on cap with white cardboard line. Tan, stained 1.75 inches high paper label with blue print. Bottle half full (1 1/2 oz) of clear viscous fluid presumably castor oil.
Bottle embossing:
Bottom: "OWENS / 3 / & logo "circle with oblong circle through middle"
Front: "POUR / arrow pointing up / HERE / symbol & I I I / 3 ounce measure on 1 side with symbol and showing 1 and 2 ounces / 90 cc measure on other side in 10 and 20 increments".
Bottle has side seams and offset ring on bottom.
Label: "CASTOR OIL / DOSE: — ADULTS, ONE… / HARRY RACE, DRUGGIST / PRESCRIPTION SPECIALIST / THE SQUIBB STORE / JUNEAU, ALASKA / PHONE 25 / REG. 2777"
Notes:
Found in back of Thomas S. Parke's paint cupboard. Phone number on label indicated 1940s (1942 phone book) product. Bottle would have been purchase from local Harry Race Drug Store, located at 254 Front St.
