Used with a gas detector to test for the presence of noxious gasses in the air in an underground mine. These tubes are designed to test for the presence of hydrocyanic acid. Air is pumped into the tube where it reacts with the substances present in the tube letting the tester know if there are hydrocyanic acids present in the air.
