Button Roller Press
Heavy metal object with a handle on the proper left. Handle is made out of wood. The handle turns the bottom of two rollers. On the proper right of both rollers is a gear, the gear on the bottom turns the gear on the top, in that way both rollers turn.

At the center of the object, on the cross plate between the two uprights is a manufactures name plate that reads: "William Dixon, Inc. /Fine Tool Making ETC./ 32—36 E. Kinney St. Newark NJ"

On the proper left side of the object the number "20927" is written in orange paint, above that is the remnants of a US Bureau of Mines property sticker.

On the very top of the object is a t—shaped handle. This handle turns a cog which adjusts two gears. The gears set the space between the two rollers.
Notes:
At the end of the fire assaying process a small "button" of gold remains in a cupel. This button must then be treated with acid to remove any silver. It is flattened using this device in order to increase the surface area that the acid with cover.
