Thomas A. Edison 80 RPM Diamond Disc Record. Black disc with recordings on one side. Information on recordings impressed on to center section of each side. A hole located directly at center fits over support protrusion on a phonograph. There are three circular indentations at the top and lower bottom corners of center section (around text). A decorative edge incircles center section. Rest of disc contains the sound ridges.
Center section list the title, artists and preformer information for the corresponding side's recording at the top. There is an image of Thomas Edison's bust with in a shield to the left of center and to the right is another shield shape with the text: "This patented Record is sold by Thomas A Edison, Inc. Orange, N.J., subject to restrictions printed on container inn which it is put out by this Company." Below center is the text: "EDISON / TRADE MARK / Thomas A Edison". Recording is of "Quartet from Rigeletto / "Bella figlia dell' amore" / (Verdi_ / MIsxed voices with orchestra / In Italian / ALICE VERLET — MERLE ALCOCK — / GUIDO CICCOLINI — / ARTHUR MIDDLETON". Side also has the numbers "B9" and "5629—B—7—1".
Verso has the numbers "5730—B—23".
On edge of record are the numbers 84001 which are repeated 4 times.

Notes:
Thomas Edison made records and record players specifically designed for each other. Other companies were making 78 RPM records which would not play on Edison phonographs without a special needle attachment.
