Description:
Pink and peach celluloid kewpie doll. Head and body one piece. Arms attached by string running through torso. Front of body and back produced by separate mold, then sealed together. Face painted; eyes, brown and black, gaze toward doll's proper right; lips, pink; two eyebrows on forehead 0.5 inches above eyes. Hair over ears and crown; back of neck and sides of neck painted yellow—brown. Body not painted. Mold constructed to show eyes, lips, nose, ears, hair, legs, toes, belly button, spine, and buttocks. Center of back has 0.25 inches hole with cork inserted. Crown of head has 15 holes scattered in 0.5 inches random circle. Belly of doll protrudes slightly. Pale pink and peach ribbon tied around doll's middle with bow in rear.
Inscription: "KEWPIE / REG US / PAT. OFF" on red and gold heart—shaped paper sticker on chest.
