Blue insulated Arctic Games Jacket with Girl Scout badges.
Date:
1/1/1974 0:00:00
Description:
The jacket is dark blue nylon with a darker blue fuzzy lining; it has fitted elastic cuffs, a straight hem, and snap closure. The jacket is covered in hand—attached patches, most of which are related to the Girl Scouts of America. There are a total of 91 patches and pin—back buttons attached to the jacket. The jacket has the logo of the Arctic Games and the year 1974 silk screened onto the back of the jacket. The PR shoulder bears a collection of patches from California theme parks and area attractions. The PL shoulder bears patches from Norway and Sweden.
Notes:
Width inches are from sleeve to sleeve — 26.5 inches is the same width across the chest. Most of the patches are related to GSA but some appear to have been picked up while the owner was attending various functions related to GSA. Ms. Freeburg was an active member of GSA when her daughter was a Scout. The jacket was obtained while her former husband worked with the games. See donor file for more information.
