Description:
Pullover polyester cloth jacket with zipper part way down front and at proper left hip. Jacket is white with abstract zigzag light and dark blue design silk—screened across proper right and center. Torch logo of runner with "SALT LAKE / OLYMPIC / TORCH / RELAY" in upper proper left, sticker with number "041" in upper proper right. Gray Olympic five—ring logo in gray on upper proper right arm and upper center back. On proper left sleeve: "SALT LAKE 2002 / LIGHT THE FIRE WITHIN". Back has blue zigzag design on proper left and center. Jacket has short upturned collar and velcro cuffs, size "XL".
Notes:
Donor ran from 12th and Glacier Highway to 12th and Irwin, just before Cope Park. In van beforehand, "Dear Lord, please don’t let me fall down." Outfit includes pants, hat and gloves. 2002 relay marked the first time the Olympic Torch came to Alaska. Weather cooperated! Juneau had snow the day and night before! At time of donation, donor worked for KJUD.
