Description:
A — Airline pilot's jacket of gray wool. Design includes: single breasted closure with 3 buttons (B—D), long sleeves each with 4 black cotton(?) bands, stitched on sleeve fronts only; 1 chest pocket on left front; 2 flap pockets, 1 on each jacket front; single notched collar; back shoulder pleats (1 each side); center back vent. Gray rayon(?) lining with 3 welt pockets on left, 1 welt pocket on right. On inside right front, white rayon label w/ red/green lettering includes graphic of majorette.
Inscription: "NUDELMAN / BROTHERS / UNIFORMS / PORTLAND—SEATTLE" on label inside.
Notes:
Worn by Ray Renshaw as Chief Pilot for Alaska Coastal Airlines in the 1960s.
Jacket, cap and pants (96.12.002—.003) will be used in Sheldon Simmons exhibit at Juneau International Airport.
