Pedestal Falsejingle (Pododesmus Pernoides)
Description:
Two, possibly three , matching halves. One half is highly irregular in rim and in indentations of concavity. Other half is much smaller and shaped like irregular doughnut or almost connected "U". Interiors are shiny white with green; exteriors are dull, bumpy white.
A — 14.75 inches by 3.75 inches by 3.0 inches attached pair with kelp; shell 2 .75 inches by 2.0 inches
B — 2.0 inches by 1.75 inches, detached pair; shell 2.0 inches by 1.75 inches
C — 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1/4" detached pair
D—E — are detached halves.
D — 2 3/8" x 2 1/4" x 1/2"
E — 1 5/8" x 1 1/2" x 1/4"
Notes:
Donor's label reads: "JINGLE SHELLS—Pododesmos Marcroschisma. Top shell deeply hollowed, bottom one smaller. Found on Pearl Harbor Beach".
