Title:
Squared cobalt bottle with dose lid, John Wyeth & Bro
Description:
A rectangular—shaped, cobalt blue glass bottle with a glass cap. The bottle has ring—like shape around the middle of the neck that has embossed, "Take Next Dose At 1". Also embossed on the side of the bottle, "John Wyeth & Bro" and on the bottom of the bottle, "Patented May 16th, 1896". The glass cap goes over the head of the bottle completely and tightens around the bottle by turning the cap clockwise. The cap has embossed on the side a series of numbers from 1 to 12 and on the top of the cap is embossed label, "This Cup Holds A Heaping Desserts Spoonful". The cap probably acted like a dosage meter for the medicine. Also there is a white strip of paint on the bottom of the bottle.
