The three scale bars are held together by L—shaped metal brackets riveted to the two outside bars. The inside bar slides freely inside the two outside bars. On the side is printed in green lettering: "PATS. PEND. MADE IN U.S.A. 68 1318 LOG LOG DUPLEX TRIG R COPYRIGHT 1947 BY KEUFFEL 7 ESSER CO."
B. Green leather carrying case to hold the slide rule. On front is printed in black magic marker: "Art Kimball." There is a flap over the open end of the case. This flap is riveted to the back of the case proper. A tab is designed to slip into a vertical holder that is riveted to the front of the case, thereby keeping the silde rule from falling out. Inside the flap is printed in black ink: "BuMines, Kimball."
