a — 10.75 inch by 18.125 inch by 12.25 inch rectangular shaped wooden box. Sides are dovetailed. Printing is black and red. "Dupont" stamped in red.
b — Same as above except box was opened upside down. "High Explosives....." stamped on bottom.
Inscription: a — "50 lbs. 1 1/4 x 8 Dupont Explosives ....Mar 15, 1938.
b — "50 lbs. 1 1/4 x 8 Dupont Explosives....Oct 5, 1941.
Notes:
Donor's father, Glen Oakes, was stockkeeper/wharfinger for A.J. Mine. Started at Treadwell 1913, then to A.J. 1916. Retired 1962. (Pat Oakes, daughter).
