Description:
Slightly flaring cylindrical cast—iron mortar with banded flanged base and flared lip. Embossed decoration on outside composed of vertical ridges surmounted by scallops spanning seven ridges. Rounded interior bottom. Pestle missing.
Notes:
Mary Lou Spartz purchased mortar at garage sale in downtown Juneau. Similar to mortar in Alaska State Museum.
