Description:
Thick end of steel cable, bound in wire with large nut welded to end. In cross—section cable is made of concentric rings of heavy gauge steel wire with inner pieces round and outer two rows slightly "S" shaped and interlocking. Outer ring of wire makes diagonal pattern of stripes. Binding wire lighter color (Not used to keep bale on large spool during transport using rope or smaller cable to lash end down)
Notes:
Tram is 3,087 feet long, achieves 1, 745' elevation, 60 passenger cars. 2" diameter track cables each w/ breaking strength of over 300 tons. 1 3/8" diameter hauling cable is kept at correct tension by hydraulic system. See donor file for further information.
