Description:
Samson Steel collapsable three—piece tubular fly fishing rod. Cork handle. Chrome—plated brass reel—holding hardware and handle end cap. Tube seam parallel to length of rod. Line guides fastened with steel wire. Black enamel on steel tubing and guide fastenings. Knurled pattern embossed on handle. Length assembled 118 inches.
Inscription: "SAMSON STEEL ROD/UNION HARDWARE CO.
TORRINGTON, CONN. U.S.A."
Notes:
Pole belonged to Thomas S. Parke. Probably acquired during 1920's or 30's. Used by Parke and his younger daughter Mary Ann.
Washed with warm water, dish soap and soft cloth. Dried.
