Description:
Blue and white plate with gilt lettering. Center transfer print design is 3—storied plank building. To proper right center is waterfall with rocks. Background is trees. Foreground is driveway and lawn. Center bottom state: "KOWEE CREEK FISH HATCHERY / JUNEAU". Outside border of plate is blue with white leaves to either side. At top, "ALASKA" written in gilt. At bottom center "1976 — 1986" written in gilt in white banner.

The hatchery was constructed in 1976 by Ladd Macaulay. It was known as Douglas Island Pink and Chum (DIPAC) Hatchery. He than built the Gastineau Salmon Hatchery, also known as DIPAC and is now called Macaulay Salmon Hatchery.
