Description:
Spherical—shaped lantern consisting of six vertical ribbed wire sections joined by two horizontal wire ribs. Vertical sections curve outward to form base. Top is solid and flares outward to support ribs. Printing is on top in raised letters. Inside has round area that holds "wick." Missing chimney.
Inscription: "Dietz — Steel Clad N.Y. U.S.A."
Notes:
Found in collections in Last Chance Mining Museum. (Compressor Building). These objects were acquired when city purchased Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Co. properties in 1974 from AEL&P who had purchased the properties from Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Co. in 1972.
