Chipmunk Crusher
Belt driven ore crusher. Object consists of a central unit made of metal, which is flanked by two wheels. The wheel to proper right is larger than the wheel to PL. Between the wheels is a yolk that is printed in raised letters with the words: "BRAUN CHIPMUNK VD67." There is a small red label on the cover on top of the main unit which is stamped with the number: "60298." Beneath the crusher is a steel tray that slides into the base of the central unit
Notes:
The chipmunk crusher, also referred to as a jaw or ore crusher, was used to crush samples of ore to prepare them for assaying. This crusher was used in the ore lab of the US Bureau of Mines, JMIC.

Mike Blackwell used this machine during the Early 1950s when he was working for USBM.
