Fire Starting Tool
Long brass rod with a cylindrical piece of textile, tied on by a piece of wire. Hooked end above textile. The bottom is looped.

Used to light the muffle furnace.
Notes:
It was dipped into a can of disel then lit and used to light the burn in the muffle furnace. Made from brass.
