A: Instrument
Rectangular grayish plastic instrument with a silver knob on top (with a black strap coming out of the top) and two small black knobs on the side. Around the two small knobs is a 'u' shaped piece of silver metal. Below this is a gauge.

B: Case
Rectangular brown leather case with adjustable length strap. Case velcros shut.
Notes:
Used throughout the state to test for minerals with radioactive properties, such as uranium.
We have a later generation of the desktop scintillometer that was used in a laboratory.
Used to detect gamma rays.

This device was used in the field to measure levels of ionizing radiation.
