Description:
A — 1.375 inches by 15.375 inches round wooden light weight barrel with inset lid with metal ring. Mostly surrounding top of barrel is cloth band. 4 wooden strips hold barrel together. It is lined with paper. Printed in red and black are "Fresh Roasted / Mayestic / Coffee / "M.G. Brandenstein and Co. / San Francisco" on sides. On bottom in black is weight and "B.M. Behrends Co. Juneau, Alaska"
B — 24 inches by 16 inches lid has small iron wire right nailed to 1 edge.

Former LM 90.05.05. Undated note taped inside of lid said B.M. Behrends received coffee in the barrel over 50 years ago. John Krugness was manager of grocery dept and had barrel in his attic. It was used on stage for play "Hygiene & Hotcakes" by his daughter Ruth Blake. Ruth was born about 1910.
