Description:
Metal and plastic First Place Trophy for the 1951 Alpine Combined Ski Competition won by Dean Williams. Base of trophy is cream colored plastic with a metal plate on the front side. Plastic has three levels at the bottom with a fourth extending upwards on top of which the metal figure is mounted. The metal plate on the side of the trophy has text etched into it reading: "ALPINE \ COMBINED \ FIRST \ 1951 \ DEAN WILLIAMS". The metal plate is held on to the plastic base by two screws with decorative (floral) heads. The screws are held in by a metal nut. The plastic base is hollow. The figure on the top of the base is gold—colored metal. The figure is of a man wearing skiies and holding on to ski poles. The man is angled in such a way to indicate if moving he would be traveling downhill. The figure is atop a metal piece with scalloped decorations at the bottom. The metal figurehead is attached to the plastic base with a screw and nut combination. There is a washer around the screw inside the base with black text reading: "Trophies \ DODGE, INC \ NEWARK * CHICAGO * LOS ANGELES * MIAMI".
