Miner's candle holder 13"
Description:
Steel candle holder.
Object consists of a square tapered rod that comes to a point on one end. Attached to the other end, with a mortise and tenon joint, is a tear drop shaped piece of steel. This component is riveted to the main body of the object with two rivets, visible just forward of the candle holder. At the visual center of the object is a steel device designed to hold a candle and a second device designed as a hanger. There is evidence of wax on both of these devices. The long curved hook, has decorative elements, approximately half way up the shaft.
