Description:
A — Viewing device for determining distance(?) consisting of monocular attached to split—image lens housing with knob adjustment. Monocular has offset tubular eyepiece covered in black Leatherette.
B — Rigid leather case, 5.5 inches by 4.5 inches by 2.75 inches, with plush lining fitted to instrument. Leather hinged lid with slotted fastening strap. Approximately 64—inch long carrying strap with buckle.
C — Two pages 5 inches by 3 inches, penciled notes on use by B.D. Stewart, June 1930, folded in case.
Inscription: A — "Zeiss Field Glass, Power 8, Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. New York, Rochester, Chicago" on end plate
"Fauth & Co., Washn. D.C. No. 2045" on lens housing
"U.S.G.S. A—50" on lens housing
B — "Turham Maker Washington D.C." stamped front center below lid.
