Description:
A — Camera is black (leather stretched over metal) and rectangular, with leather strap. Back panel removes for film, with .5—inch diameter orange, round window in upper right corner. Front has hinged perpendicular door. Camera lens, attached to metal frame, locks into position by two metal tabs. Lens frame attached to black fabric bellows. On metal frame is view finder. Attached to frame is black rubber tube and bulb to operate shutter. Patent dates printed on inside of lid.
B — Camera case is rectangular black leather with round brass clasp engraved with initials. Is same shape as camera and pouch—like. Two—piece strap encircles case and has two buckles.
Inscription: "EKC"
Notes:
Belonged to donor's father, Magnus Hansen (Sr.); acquired about 1910—1914; fisherman in Juneau from 1911—1951; owned the Post Explorer.
