Replica of the Montana Creek fish trap.
Large basketry replica of the Montana Creek fish trap. Object is cylindrical in shape with a funnel at the entrance. Made from horizontal slats of hemlock and Sitka spruce with circular, bent wood ribs, lashed together with spruce root.

Notes:
Project was commissioned by the Museum to be placed on exhibit with the Montana Creek Fish Trap. Donations from organizations in the community helped the Museum pay for it. Project was accomplished along with the installation of the authentic fish trap in the gallery. See the Alaska State Museum Grant—in Aid file folder for extensive information about the projects.
