Notes:
Charity Green grew up in Kenai, Alaska and studied historic painting at Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy. Green received a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2001. She also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Alaska Southeast.
Green paints portraits and still life in oil. Her style is traditional and naturalistic. She is known for painting everyday objects from our Juneau and Alaskan environment. Green's work is surprisingly seduce. She takes a common object from our Alaskan environment and renders it in oil on canvas. Through this process,it is transformed.
Feather is an oil painting of an Eagle and Raven feather. What these two birds mean to Alaskans runs the gamut from Tlingit and Haida tribal and clan affiliations: scientific wonderment, popular culture and personal experiences and stories.
