Description:
Red plastic box (A) with tight—fitting, end—cap self lid (B) on upper end of box. Clear adhesive labels with black print on two sides of box. Each label identifies contents, manufacture, and assurance of expiration dates and maker; one side in English, one in Japanese.
Inscriptions on exterior label: "LIFEBOAT AND RAFT RATIONS/(9 meals per man)/(CONTENTS)/…/Data of Manufacture: MAY 8 1978/Assurance expiration MAY 7, 1987(?)/Banyu Nutrition Co. Ltd./Shimomeguro 2—12—1 Meguroka—Tokyo"
Box Contents (C): 25027 sealed foil—wrapped food packages with red print tightly packed in clear plastic bag. All fit tightly into plastic box. Sheet of folded white paper in plastic bag with food packets have black print in Japanese (?) and English.
