Description:
Women's jacket constructed from beige—colored deer skin leather and hair seal skin with golden yellow silky lining. Fur panel on back and fur panels on either side of open front as sell as cuffs. Jacket has no collar, pockets or fasteners. Construction overall includes wide whip stitch at seams done with wide leather thong of beige deer skin leather
Notes:
Judge von der Heydt was 1 judge in Juneau appointed after Statehood. Served in Juneau until 1966 when he was appointed to Federal bench. Judge Tom Stewart took over has position on 1966. Judge Stewart brought jacket from Anchorage. Hair seal is local seal — also called "harbor Seal". Jacket made by Nina Chapman of "Nina's Originals"
