Description:
A — Large standing sharpener bolted to round base. Five screws protrude from upper back edge and four bolts (nuts). Resting on frame in front are two separate rounded pieces. One has two opposing springs at back; the other an open space with small rounded bar in middle. Behind this attached to main body is curved flat piece surrounding metal (vertical) handle. Underneath two rubber hoses are attached.
B — Rectangular shaped base smaller than "A" with numerous pipes bolted horizontally to sides. Long lever—like handle bolted to side (jointed in center). One end has narrow very sharp pointed round piece of metal inserted into notched four—sided curved piece.
Notes:
Found in collections in Last Chance Mining Museum. (Compressor Building). These objects were acquired when city purchased Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Co. properties in 1974 from AEL&P who had purchased the properties from Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Co. in 1972.
