Title:
USCG Auxiliary flag
Description:
USCG Auxiliary flag, dark blue background with USCGA emblem stitched in white in the center (2 crossed anchors behind a circle reading "United States Coast Guard Auxiliary" with another circle inside it reading "Semper Paratus"). Reverse is identical. White seam on pole end printed with manufacturer's info (Navy Paramount Flag Co., San Francisco / [illegible]% Wool / U.S.C.G. AUX SIZE 3) in blue, and two metal—rimmed holes.
Notes:
Does not seem to be the standard USCGA flag, which has a wide diagonal white band on a blue background. Mary Ann Parke has seen images of this flag on ships seized for use in 1944 wartime photos.
