Wooden handle with the remains of a decal attached to a heavy hammer head. Head is two part, with a larger striking face and a smaller band to hold the handle opposite. Head is painted institutional grey. "USBM" is written on one side of the hammer.

Notes:
Probably a relatively new handle. Used in the USBM ore lab for breaking up rock samples into course sizes for further griding and evaluation.
