Description:
99 gold—plated steel English bait hooks, size 10, measuring .875 inch by .5 inch. Orange and black label glued to cardboard: "ENGLISH BAIT HOOKS". Hooks stored in clear plastic pill bottle with white plastic snap—on top. "HARRY RACE / DRUGGIST, INC. / JUNEAU / ALASKA" embossed in blue on lid.

See 2002.11.012. From Parke's fishing tackle. Hooks used for jigging herring. 6 to 8 hooks tied onto line w/ weight at lower end, spaced ~ 12 — 18" apart. Jig attached to fishing line & lowered into herring school. Gold hooks w/o bait attract herring, which were used for salmon & halibut fishing.
