Description:
Thomas A. Edison 80 RPM Diamond Disc Record. Black disc with recordings on one side. Information on recordings located in the center section of the recorded side. A hole located directly at center fits over support protrusion on a phonograph.

Center section is covered by a white and black piece of paper. There is a checkered decorative boarder around the piece of paper. At the top the checkered boarder is interrupted by text that reads: "INDEX No." At the bottom the checkered boarder is interrupted by text that reads: "PRICE $1.00 in the U.S.A. / 8716". The top half of the paper is black with white text and illustrations. The text reads: "EDISON RECORD". There is an image of Thomas Edison's bust to the right of center and the logo to the left which indicates that the record is "A PRODUCT OF THE EDISON LABORATORIES". The lower half of the paper is white with black text listing the title, artists and preformer information for the corresponding side's recording at the bottom. Text reads: 51065—R / MARIE—NOCTURNE / (Brinley—Richards, Op. 68) / Piano Solo / Ranz Falkenburg". Front also has numbers: "8716—C—4—1".
Verso has brown paper at the center and has numbers "51065—L" and "8722—A—3—5".
Notes:
Thomas Edison made records and record players specifically designed for each other. Other companies were making 78 RPM records which would not play on Edison phonographs without a special needle attachment.
