US Army Medical Corps Jacket
Description:
Brown wool military jacket with brass buttons, vent in back. Jacket falls to mid—thigh, has four large buttons as a singe—breasted design, two patch pockets with flaps at chest, two pockets lower with only flaps. Lapels and pocket flaps all have brass buttons. Chevron patches on both upper arms in gray and dark blue with a "T", patch on proper left shoulder has red shield—shaped background and a yellow ship's wheel symbol, the proper right shoulder has a round blue patch featuring a red arrow, and stars including the big dipper. Patch on lower proper right sleeve near cuff has a laurel wreath—like symbol on a square olive drab background, and there is a simple golden yellow embroidered bar patch on the proper left cuff. Under the proper right lapel is a wide diamond—shaped patch with an eagle in a circle, outstretched wings extending outside the circle. Round pins on upper lapel: proper left is a medical caduceus proper right is "US"
Notes:
May have been the jacket of a Medical Corps Tech Sargent in the army. Caduceus is the symbol for the US Army Medical Corps. Likely belonged to "Bud"
