Title:
Large kerosene lantern with glass lens
Description:
Large kerosene lantern with glass lens.
The kerosene lantern is metal. Slightly discolored, the lantern is greenish gray in color. The glass lens separated the lantern into two metal pieces. The glass lens is guarded by a frame of small metal bars. Six small bars run vertically between the two larger pieces of metal while two horizontal bars have been attached to the six vertical bars in a circular pattern. The horizontal bars appear to have been attached with small decorative hooks. The base of the lantern appears to have a two piece metal latch. Along the base of the lantern, below the lens, are small, equally spaced decorative circles. Another decorative pattern of small circles and a triangular shape is located between the len and the handle. The small metal handle is attached to the lantern.
