Inclinometer/Strike Indicator
Inclinometer or strike indicator. Measures relative strength of magnetism. Use to identify magnetic deposits. Essentially its a compass that measures the angle of a magnetite deposit compared to magnertic north.
A: Instrument
Small round directional compass. Outter edge is orange with tags that read: Property of WFOC, W0302, US Bureau of Mines and Property, United States Bureau of Mines, 8890. There is a small hole in the side. Attached to the compas is a silver ring with black string and a silver piece of metal.
B: Detachable Cover
Painted black metal cap. Tag that says: Property of United States Bureau of Mines, 8891.
C: Pin
Small metal pin. On one end there is a loop.

Notes:
The same types of measurements that can be taken with this instrument may also be taken with a Brunton Compass. The tool being used would have depended on the individual geologist making the assessment.
