Description:
"And Water" is a two—dimensional welded raw steel mosaic sculpture in the shape of a totem pole. The "figures" of the totem are an oil barrel, a cruise ship, a camper, a gun and an airplane. The pieces of metal range in color, including silver, blue, back and red, depending on the oxidation process done to that section of metal.
Notes:
According to Dimmitt, '"And Water" investigates the cultural discord of modern Alaska by superimposing contemporary elements (an oil barrel, a cruise ship, a camper, a gun and an airplane) on a form that brings to mind the preceding traditions."
"And Water" is a metal mosaic made with Dimmitt's CNC plasma machine and welded raw steel completed in 2015. It has been colored with natural oxides and has a lacquer finish.
