Description:
a — Two—piece bulbous body with embossed curvilinear design in silver—plated brass. Round slotted and embossed convex foot narrows, soldered to body of well. Metal cylinder acts as support to woven cotton wick which is adjusted by knob near base. Dome—topped gauge and wick gauge are on concave scalloped top of well body. Cylindrical chimney holder and wick support has uniform perforations on outside. Inscription on wick adjustment knob and fuel gauge.
b — Black painted wrought iron holder. Two rings support bottom and sides. Bolted to four .75—inch wide iron curvilinear legs / handles.

Dates to late 1800s or early 1900s when used by Peterson Family during operation of Peterson Mine. Mr. John Peterson (1861—1919) was tinsmith by trade & may have made base which is not original to lamp.
Mr. Carl Jensen died 1986, (husband of donor) was nephew to Mrs. Marie Peterson. He inherited claim to mine & Pearl Harbor property from his cousin, Irma Peterson Olson. Irma & Margaret Peterson ran mine & mill after their father died.
