"Windham Bay Narrows / Yates Ranch" Large Wooden Sign

Description:
Large long wooden sign with raised lettering 1.5 inches high painted in green: "WINDHAM BAY NARROWS 5" and "YATES RANCH." There are arrows at both ends showing direction for each location. Sign joined in center and at either end. Additional rectangular piece has been nailed on.
Notes:
Sign probably came from Taku Harbor. Charlie Yates was early miner (ca 1898) in area of Windham Bay. Town established at head of bay 4 mi east of narrows in 1900. Post office was there until 1956.
Sign donated via Alaska State Museum.
