Description:
Porcelain cup and saucer.
A — Teacup — 2.375 inches high, 3.5 inches wide, 2.75 inches deep. Has printed hand—tinted image of Juneau's government courthouse. Exterior has blue and yellow glazes, gilt floral patterns and arches. Exterior has raised decorative element along gilded arches.
B. Saucer — .75 inches high, 5.125 inches wide. Top has blue and yellow glazes, gilt floral patterns and arches. Top side has raised decorative element along gilded arches.
Inscription: A—B — "MADE / IN / GERMANY" on bottom
A — "GOVERNMENT COURTHOUSE, JUNEAU, ALASKA" on exterior
Notes:
Cup & saucer belonged to Mrs. George Forrest. (George Forrest was the mayor of Juneau) These items were given "In memory of Selma Anderson Berg Forrest and John & Eva Hempel." The Hempels lived in Juneau until about 1930. Eva was the niece of Selma. (See also 92.27)
