Description:
Deck of bridge and canasta playing cards. Cards are in a silver box with blue writing on the outside. There is a Pan Am logo of a globe with a bird wing coming off of the top, done in blue, with the letters PAA done in silver. Printing on the front of the box says: WORLD SCENIC PLAYING CARDS, Pan American World Airways." On the back of the box is an image of the two of diamonds with a photo of the "Garden of Gethsemane, Jerusalem" on it.

There are 52 playing cards inside each with a different photograph of somewhere around the world on it. The back of each playing card is light blue with the PAA logo at center and the worlds "PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS" printed below.
Notes:
Donor stated she and her parents received the cards when traveling south on Pan American. It was her Mom's first flight. The year was 1947 and they returned on the Alcan Highway, the first year it was open to civilians. According to her: " In the old days, playing cards, cigarettes, chewing gum and livesavers were all distributed to the passengers, along with full course, linen napkins accompanied meals."
