Ivory handled carving set.
A: Carving knife with an ivory handle and metal blade. The blade is double edged and smooth (non—serrated). The handle is smooth white ivory. There is a decorative piece of metal sealing where the blade attaches to the handle. There is text engraved into one side of blade near the base reading "RUSTLESS". A logo and test reading "Zenith" is also engraved into the same side of the blade as the other text.
B: Carving fork with an ivory handle and metal blade. The fork has two tines. The handle is smooth white ivory. There is a decorative piece of metal sealing where the blade attaches to the handle. Engraved into the palm of the fork is text reading: "GERMANY".
C: Sharping tool with an ivory handle. The sharpening tool is a tapered cylinder. There is a decorative piece of metal sealing where the blade attaches to the handle. Text engraved into this decorative piece of metal reads: "NUGGET SHOP \ JUNEAU, ALASKA". Engraved into the base of the cylinder is text reading: "GERMANY".

Notes:
Collection was collected by Mary Moncia (Monagle) Tweet, oldest daughter of Mary Monica (Hudson) Monagle and James William Mongale. Mary Tweet collected the items when she was a postmistress in Teller from 1931 through 1970 and sent the items back to her mother in Juneau. Mary Monagle kept the collection until her death in 1966 when Rosellen Lillegraven inherited the collection. Rosellen (originally Margaret Ellen Rose Monagle) gave the collection to her brother Merritt Monagle circa 1991. Merritt was the youngest child of Mary and James Monagle. Donor, Ann Monagle, was one of two children of Merritt Monagle and Katherine Monagle. Merritt died in 2004.
