Description:
Acoustic current meter and attachments with storage box, consists of:
A — 8 inches by 6 inches meter, chromed steel with six conical cups mounted wheel—like on enclosed shaft. Cups turn within circular U—shaped arm attached to shaft. Used to measure water flow.
B — 6.24 inches by 9.24 inches by 6.24 inches wood box, top lid with two hinges, built—in lock. Two brass clasps on front. Two—part leather strap, screwed to sides, crosses top and buckles to secure lid. Compartments inside box. Reduction table chart and instructions tacked inside lid. Paper tag with "NOTICE" and instructions glued to inside rear of box.
C — Chromed steel curved L—shaped extension tube screws into shaft on meter.
D — Hardened coil of white rubber tubing. Chrome ferrule and plug at one end, fits into "c".
E — 3.5 inches round black leather pad with plastic ear plug. Plug connects to rubber tubing. Black elastic band attached to pad at two points.
F—G — Two fragments of hardened rubber tubing
H — Two—inch round stopwatch. 60—second dial with smaller dial to 30 minutes.
I — "Perfect" pocket oiler. Four—inch tube—shaped oil container with cover.
J — Metal point attached to threaded shaft. (Bearing?)
K — Metal bracket with three U—shaped cutouts.
L — Cleaning cloth.
Inscription: A — "W & L.E. GURLEY, TROY, N.Y. PAT MAY 18, 1897, 232" on end of shaft
B — "BD Stewart Juneau Alaska" on lid.
H — "National Park" on face
