Description:
White painted metal helmet is oval with bulbous crown indenting, then flaring gradually to brim. Six aluminum bolts attach on interior web of gray cotton twill tape. Gray twill tape chinstrap attached to underside of rim. Remains of round decal with white star in center, blue background, white border. Lettering on decal.
Inscription: Probably "WARDEN" on top.

Notes:
The Civil Defense helmets were issued to Air Raid Wardens in 1942 by Civil Defense.
