Written on the reverse of the canvas in pencil: "The Goods Are Odd/Daniel DeRoux/2006" This inscription however is not visible, as a piece of acid free blue board has been attached to the frame.

Notes:
"The Goods Are Odd" — there is a prior painting on the canvas beneath "Invention of the 2 Cycle Engine." It was a play on the saying: "For Alaska Women the odds are good but the goods are odd, " and showed a woman fishing with a pole and pulling in an Alaska man. This was painted in 2006.
