Description:
Hood, one of three parts of modern—day academic dress. This is a "full" hood composed of shoulder cape, cowl (head portion), and truncated end of liripipe. Top edge of cape and cowl covered with white velvet; cowl, cap, and liripipe are black acetate. Lined in white and blue acetate; blue lining has been folded over onto front to made .75 inches edging.
Notes:
Hood worn when given Doctor of Humanities degree from U of A April 1985. Dr Rude came to Juneau in Jan 1941 & practiced medicine until 1988.
