Description:
View across blue channel to city at foot of green and brown mountain with snow patches which fills most of upper portion of picture. White clouds billowing up at left of painting into deep blue sky. Several float planes and small boats are visible at waterfront piers, plus large ship with blue and red hull and white decks and fixtures above. Reflections of cloud in water in shades of light blue and gray in left foreground. Tan inside mat, gray—green outside mat. Brass plaque on first mat gives artist's name, painting's title, statement on painting. Antique gold finished wood frame with glass.
Inscription: "Juneau" / BY BYRON BIRDSALL / PRESENTED TO THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE OF JUNEAU ON THE SILVER ANNIVERSARY OF STATEHOOD BY FRIENDS OF ALASKA'S CAPITAL CITY / JANUARY 3, 1984", engraved on brass plate.
"BYRON BIRDSALL, 1983" signature in white paint in lower right.
